Starlink on a tripod

Out on the Bass Coast at Kilcunda, this home had been running on 5G home internet. Wireless signal on the coast can rise and fall with conditions, the network and how many people are connected nearby, so the household switched to Starlink for a more dependable connection.

We installed a tripod mount on the metal roof, secured to the roof screws, and angled the dish for a clear view of the sky over the coastline. The cable was run neatly from the dish to the router inside, and we set up and tested the connection before leaving.

The connection no longer relies on the nearest mobile tower. If you're along the Bass Coast and 5G or mobile internet isn't keeping up, Starlink is well worth a look.
