Mesh Wi-Fi installation

Mesh Wi-Fi, installed and tested

One router can't always cover every room. Extra Wi-Fi points may be the right fix.

We position suitable equipment, configure your network and test coverage with you.

We can install your own mesh kit or quote to supply equipment.

Customer-supplied mesh installation: from $250

When mesh Wi-Fi helps

Long homes, brick walls and double-storey layouts can block a single router's signal.

A mesh system gives you multiple Wi-Fi points working together.

For detached sheds, we assess suitable cabling or a dedicated wireless link instead of assuming an indoor mesh node will reach.

How installation works

  1. Check your router, internet connection and the rooms with poor Wi-Fi.
  2. Choose suitable positions. Wireless mesh units need a usable link to other nodes.
  3. Set up the nodes, Wi-Fi name, security and any suitable Ethernet backhaul.
  4. Test Wi-Fi in the areas you use and explain how the network works.

Your kit or ours

We can install a system you've already purchased, subject to checking its suitability.

We can also provide a quote for suitable equipment before ordering anything.

TP-Link Deco suits many homes. Omada and UniFi are access-point platforms that may suit larger sites.

The right setup depends on the property, not the brand name.

Wired versus wireless backhaul

Wireless mesh nodes share data over a wireless connection. Walls and distance can weaken that link.

Wired backhaul connects suitable nodes using Ethernet, which can improve consistency.

Wired nodes need an Ethernet connection rather than a strong wireless link to another node.

We can use suitable existing outlets or quote additional cabling after inspecting the route.

Mesh with new wired backhaul is quoted after inspection.

What will it cost?

From $250

Installation and setup of a suitable customer-supplied kit. Hardware, additional cable runs and wired backhaul are quoted separately.

The $150 health check is credited towards repair or upgrade work completed during the same visit. If no work goes ahead, the $150 visit fee applies.

We confirm the price, extra travel and any additional work before booking.

Questions about this service

Will mesh fix my slow internet?
Mesh may improve coverage inside your home, but it will not repair a provider-side internet fault. We compare wired and wireless results first.
How many nodes will I need?
That depends on the building's size, walls and layout. We assess placement before recommending a node count.
Can I put a mesh node in a shed?
Not reliably in every case. A shed may need suitable cabling or a dedicated wireless building link.
Can you install a mesh system I bought?
Yes, if it suits the property. We check your equipment before installing.
What is wired backhaul?
An Ethernet connection between Wi-Fi points. It can be more consistent where walls weaken wireless links.
Deco, Omada and UniFi: what's the difference?
Deco is a home mesh range. Omada and UniFi provide access-point systems for more involved networks.
Will mesh double my Wi-Fi speed?
We cannot promise a speed increase. Coverage and throughput depend on the connection, walls, placement and backhaul.
