Starlink installation in Tooradin

Tooradin is a Western Port fishing village of about 1,800 people, 57 km south-east of Melbourne on the South Gippsland Highway, split between Casey and Cardinia. The name comes from the Boon wurrung word for the Bunyip said to live in the Koo Wee Rup Swamp. Sawtell's Inlet and the old weatherboard Fishermans Cottage sit on the foreshore, and it's a common stop on the way to Phillip Island. Farmland runs out toward Dalmore and Koo Wee Rup.

Internet in Tooradin

In the town centre it's mostly NBN fibre to the premises (FTTP), for example on Yannathan Street and Matthew Street. Further out, on the rural roads, addresses fall in NBN fixed wireless areas. Out of town, where fixed wireless can struggle, Starlink is the usual step up. In town it suits homes on a slow line.
