Wi-Fi troubleshootingNew home network setup
New home network setup
Your new home, properly connected
The handover paperwork says NBN-ready. That doesn't always mean your internet is active.
We check the equipment and cabling already installed in your home.
Your provider confirms service availability and activation. We configure the home-network side.
What NBN-ready can mean
The builder may have installed network equipment, wall outlets or a communications cabinet.
Check your handover documents. The label alone doesn't guarantee which items are installed.
Your internet plan, working router, Wi-Fi coverage and connected devices still need checking.
What we set up
Some preparation is possible before activation. Final online tests require an active service.
- Check installed connection equipment and whether your service is active.
- Map and test the existing Ethernet wall outlets.
- Position and configure your own router where it can serve the rooms you use.
- Set your Wi-Fi name, password and suitable security settings.
- Connect the key devices you need and explain the setup.
New estates and surrounding suburbs
We're based in Cranbourne and welcome enquiries from Clyde North, Officer, Pakenham and Botanic Ridge.
We also work across south-east Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula and Bass Coast.
We confirm any travel cost for your address before booking.
What stays with your provider
VINCONNECT does not activate your internet plan or work on NBN-owned network equipment.
If tests suggest an incoming connection fault, we explain the findings to raise with your provider.
We can prepare parts of the home network before activation, depending on the equipment.
What will it cost?
From $200
Home-network configuration, router positioning and checking suitable existing outlets. Equipment, new data points and provider activation are separate.
The $150 health check is credited towards repair or upgrade work completed during the same visit. If no work goes ahead, the $150 visit fee applies.
We confirm the price, extra travel and any additional work before booking.
Questions about this service
- What is included in NBN-ready?
- Check your handover documents. It does not guarantee an active plan, suitable router position or configured Wi-Fi.
- Can you do the setup before we move in?
- Yes, where access and equipment allow it. Final online testing needs an active internet service.
- Do we need mesh in a new home?
- Not necessarily. A well-placed router may be enough. We assess the home's layout before recommending extra Wi-Fi points.
- We have data points but don't know what they do.
- We map the outlets, test suitable wiring and connect working points to your home network.
- Can you activate our internet service?
- No. Your internet provider activates the service. We configure the router and other home-network equipment.
- How long does a setup take?
- It depends on the number of outlets and devices, access and connection status. We confirm the work before booking.
