Starlink Standard dish on a tripod on a metal roof.
Starlink

Starlink on an ordinary home

New estates without NBN yet, copper that has given up, and rentals that will not accept a tile hole. The dish is the easy part. The entry and the router wall are the job.

Homes this suits

New estates still waiting on NBN or OptiComm, copper services that drop out in the evening, and households that need the connection for work, school and calls.

Rentals and body corporate

If the lease or the owners corporation doesn't allow holes in the roof, tell us before the visit. On tile we use an under-tile mount, so no tiles are drilled. On Colorbond we use a tripod on the existing roof screws. The cable will still be visible, so check that with the landlord.

Questions

Will Starlink replace the phone line?
Starlink is internet. Calls over Wi-Fi can replace a copper phone line once the Wi-Fi is reliable, if your handsets and your carrier support it. Not every phone will.
