CCTV for rural properties

A rural camera plan starts with power, a recorder, and a way to reach the shed or the gate. Wi-Fi from the kitchen is not that plan.

Record it where you are

Cameras record on a box at the house. The phone view is extra. If the internet drops, last night is still on the disk.

The far building

A shed, stable or gate that is out of Wi-Fi range needs a real path: cable where it is short and safe, or a wireless link where it is not. The camera then needs power. PoE does both on one cable when the run is practical. A solar camera is the exception for a spot with no power, not the default for a powered shed.

Closer top-down plan of a rural property with paddock fences and gates and a driveway from the road gate to the house. The rectangular Starlink Standard dish sits on a tripod on the Colorbond house roof, and the router gives Wi-Fi inside the house. One dotted bridge link joins a radio on the house eave to a radio on the shed eave; the two radios face each other across a clear path with no trees in the way. A Wi-Fi access point inside the shed gives coverage there.
Example layout: one link from the house to the shed.

A completed example

The Nyora new-home job connected Starlink to cameras that were already there. That was one property. The CCTV packages are starting points, and the visit still has to match your buildings.

Mark the house, the shed and the gate.

Map your home, shed, stable, office or gate before we quote your network. Drop a pin on each building. We check line of sight and distance on site before we quote, so we can tell whether house Wi-Fi will reach or a building needs its own link.
