The usual complaint
nbn technology is not the same for every house in a suburb. Check the nbn address checker and Starlink availability for the property. Evening slowdowns and dropouts in bad weather are the usual complaint. Finished jobs in Nyora, Caldermeade and Red Hill started with unreliable fixed wireless at those houses. That does not mean the whole town is on fixed wireless.
What Starlink does not fix
A house with dead Wi-Fi rooms. A shed well away from the house. A camera plan with no recorder. Those are property-network jobs on top of the dish.
Questions
- Should I keep fixed wireless as backup?
- Sometimes, for a business that can't be offline. Most homes don't. It's an extra monthly bill, so keep it only if you need a backup.
