Roam is a plan, not a dish
It's easy to mix up. The Starlink Mini and the Starlink Standard dish are kits: the hardware. Roam is the service plan you put the kit on. Either kit can run on a Roam plan. More on that in Starlink Mini, installed properly.
The two Roam plans
Roam 100GB. Starlink pitches it at occasional trips, camping and getaways, with a set amount of data each month and travel within Australia.
Roam Unlimited. Starlink pitches it at frequent travellers and people working on the go, and it includes travel overseas. Check Starlink's site for the current inclusions.
Pausing between trips
Starlink bills Roam in one-month increments, and you can pause and unpause it. Standby mode keeps emergency messaging and easy reactivation in dead zones, for what Starlink calls a small monthly fee. It doesn't list that fee on the plan page, so check it with Starlink.
That suits a van that sits in storage for a few months, then heads off for school holidays.
Which one suits your trips?
- A few weekends a year, say down to Phillip Island or Inverloch: Roam 100GB, paused between trips, is worth a look.
- A long lap, or working from the van: Roam Unlimited is the plan Starlink aims at frequent travellers.
- Leaving Australia with the kit: Roam Unlimited includes travel overseas. Check Starlink's current inclusions.

Using it on the move
Starlink allows in-motion use for the Starlink Standard and Starlink Mini on Roam and Priority plans, in places where Starlink authorises it. Residential plans don't allow in-motion use. Residential is Starlink's home plan.
Our standard setup is for use when you're parked, and we don't set up for in-motion use. Pack the Camp Stand away and secure it before you drive.
What we do, and what it costs
We don't sell Starlink plans or kits. You order them from Starlink, then we fit the kit to your van.
- Caravan install: priced for your van in your quote.
- Van mount: depends on the mount, and we show it in your quote.
- Inverter or DC converter, if the van needs one: we supply the unit, and your quote shows it with the fitting.

Questions
Can I put a Starlink Mini on a Roam plan? Yes. Roam is the plan and the Mini is the kit. Starlink offers Roam for the Starlink Mini and the Starlink Standard dish.
Can I pause Roam while the van's in storage? Yes. Starlink lets you pause and unpause Roam. Standby mode keeps emergency messaging and easy reactivation for a small monthly fee, so check the current fee with Starlink.
Do you sell Roam plans? No. You order the kit and the plan from Starlink. We fit the kit to your van.
